    Polycystic Kidney Disease, in fact, is divided into ADPKD and ARPKD. The former is commonly seen Kidney Disease known as adult PKD while the latter mainly appears in infant period.

    Then how to diagnose Polycystic Kidney Disease as soon as possible? The factors are as follows.

    1.Family history

    Performance of urinary system:

    Clinical features appear to patients mainly in their 40’s, which includes lower back pain or upper abdominal pain, dull pain or renal colic, upper urinary tract infection, coexisting kidney stone, headache, nausea and vomiting as well as loss of weight, etc.

    Performance of cardiovascular system:

    Hypertension is initial symptom in some cases, which may be accompanied by left ventricular hypertrophy, mitral valve prolapse, aortic insufficiency or intracranial aneurysm.

    Performance of digestive system:

    30%~40% of patients with Polycystic Kidney Disease go with hepatic cyst. Besides, 10% of them have pancreatic cyst while about 5% have splenic cyst.

    Serum creatinine:

    It gradually increases with the decline of renal compensation.


    Increased renal angiography with anomalous shape is showed.
