    What Are Symptoms If You Have GFR 48 with FSGSFocal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a common type of Nephrotic Syndrome in both adults and children. With decline of kidney function, patients are likely prone to suffer from numerous discomforts. However, for patients with GFR 48, are there any symptoms in FSGS?

    Actually, GFR (glomerular filtration rate) is usually taken as a reliable indicator to reflect renal function. And according to GFR, kidney disease is divided into 5 stages.

    Stage 1: GFR is 90ml/min or above

    Stage 2: GFR is from 60-89ml/min

    Stage 3: GFR is between 30-59ml/min

    Stage 4: GFR is about 15-29ml/min

    Stage 5: GFR is less than 15 ml/min

    As we can see that GFR 48 is in stage 3 kidney disease. And it indicates that there is moderate damage on your kidneys and they can not work properly. In this case, FSGS patients will experience the following symptoms.

    High blood pressure, or hypertension is a common symptom. For them, high blood pressure is always difficult to control.

    Edema, or swelling. It can occur in any parts of the body, such as foot, leg, hand, face, even eyelid.

    Proteinuria. FSGS is often first identified by monitoring the amount of protein in urine.

    High creatinine level. When kidneys are damaged, creatinine level will increase. And it can further damage the kidneys.

    Blood in urine. It is seen in about 50% of patients with FSGS. You should take immediate measure under this condition.

    Body numbness. With decline of renal function, kidneys can not remove the wastes and toxins out of the body effectively and once they deposit in the body for a long time, they will hurting the nearby nerves and you will fell numbness.
