    2013-08-30 11:56| Font Size A A A

Bone Disease Symptoms from Stage 3 CKDStage 3 CKD is moderate decline of kidney function with GFR of 30-59ml/min. As renal function decreases, a person with this condition is more prone to develop complications like early bone disease. Check this text for more useful information or chat with our online doctor directly for free advice.

In Stage 3 CKD, bone disease can start long before patients show any signs. Because of this, it is usually called the "silent crippler." Early indicators of this problem include high phosphorus and/or high parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels, red eyes, itching and sores due to calcium-phosphorus deposits.

Symptoms of this condition in advanced stage of kidney disease can be bone or joint pain, bone deformation, bone fractures, poor mobility, etc. This bone disorder can lead to slow bone growth in children and can result in "renal rickets" where the leg bones grow either bowed toward each other or away from each other. Kids with this condition are also likely to be shorter in stature.

People with Stage 3 CKD and bone disease are at risk for bone and joint pain, broken bones, infections and skin problems. The things that cause weak bones can also increase the risk for heart attacks. Therefore, it is very necessary to treat this problem and keep the bone healthy. Strategies as below might be helpful for your reference:

Ⅰ. Follow a diet low in phosphorus. Avoid or limit high phosphorus foods including milk, cheese, fish, red meat, nuts, dried beans and peas, whole grain bread, beer, cocoa, dark sodas, bran, etc.

Ⅱ. Take a phosphate binder, which can help limit how much phosphorus the body absorbs from foods.

Ⅲ. Live a healthy lifestyle. Take proper exercises like walking, jogging, biking, swimming, etc. Avoid tobacco. For more information, feel free to Contact Us.
