    Can CKD Patients Eat Pineapple

    The shape of pineapple is beautiful and pineapple has lots of sweet juice. It is loved by most people. However, as a kidney patient, can I still eat pineapple? This is the most concerned question by Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients.
    Can CKD Patients Eat Pineapple

    As for kidney patients, 100g pineapple contains 147mg potassium, so? Patients with high potassium level in blood had better not eat pineapple so as to avoid hyperlipidemia. If your blood potassium level is normal or not so high, you can eat pineapple moderately but each time should not be over 100g.

    In pineapple, there is a pineapple proteinase which can break into protein. After eating meat or greasy foods, eating pineapple is good for your body.

    Pineapple proteinase has the function of dissolving fibrous protein and blood clots, improving blood circulation, eliminating inflammation and swelling. Then, if you have inflammation, swelling or blood clots, you can also eat moderate pineapple to cooperate with your treatment.

    The sugar, salt and magnesium in pineapple has diuretic property. It is good for patients with nephritis and high blood pressure.
