    Normally, our kidney is packed with numerous functions. The kidney is responsible to discharge extra wastes and toxins from body, keep electrolyte level and acid-based balance, producing erythropoietin and so on. Once diagnosed with kidney disease, the damage kidney fails to function well. In order to protect kidney from the further kidney damage, generally, patients are required to have the following dietary principles:

    -eat a low-protein food

    -limit fluid intake

    -limit intake of phosphorus, potassium, salt.

    -ingest food with high vitamins

    Well then, are corn dogs suitable for people with kidney damage?

    To be frank, there is no specific food what patients can eat or not, because that depends on your illness condition. How to make a corn dog? A corn dog is a hot dog sausage coated in a thick layer of cornmeal batter. The main materials of corn dogs include two parts: sausage and corn powder. Actually, people who are diagnosed with kidney disease are not suggested to eat corn dogs. The reasons are as the following:

    Sausage is rich in sodium, while eating too much salt will become a huge burden for the damaged kidney because the injured kidney fails to discharge extra sodium from the body. In addition, too much consumption will worsen edema or swelling and high blood pressure, thus leading to serious condition.

    And the corn meal also contains a large amount of potassium and phosphorus level. For kidney disease patients, due to kidney damage, they are more likely to suffer from high potassium and/or phosphorus level in blood. Therefore, it is important to limit intake of potassium and phosphorus. And kidney disease patients should stay away from corn dogs.

    In addition, it belongs to fired food. Eating too much will increase the amount of fat and cholesterol which is dangerous for cardiovascular system.
