    Kidneys are major organs to excrete urea. When glomerular filtration rate drops or reduction of blood volume is severe, blood urea nitrogen will increase.

    2. Excessive intake of protein

    As mentioned above, BUN is the metabolic disorder of protein and it should be discharged from the body by kidneys. Usually, the much more protein we ingest, the much more urea nitrogen are produced.
